Entry for November 7, 2008
What a week! First it was the Sonics, last night it was the King Khan & BBQ Show. A soggy Autumn evening in a steamy club this two man pounding beat combo cheered a post election crowd hungry for yet another party. Politics are coming around finally, as noted by King Khan in his repeated references to the black president (finally). The crowd was delirious by the second or third song and the BBQ show raised their energy to match. Some new songs were debuted, we got to see King Khan's junk (again), Mark Sultan seemed even more bundled in layers of clothes then usual and his turban was bound by a babooshka's scarf, charming. Sean Spits was cajoled onto stage to join them for a song, Donny danced like Gerard Malanga, and the ladies, well the ladies wouldn't let up once they got on the stage. All in all a typical King Khan & BBQ Show, Seattle loves this band, I love this band. Floods be damned, we're gonna dance!
