While my own musical tastes can seem bewildering even to me, I hadn’t really considered a combination like this.  Not that the same people can’t listen to both Twee and Oi, but that people wouldn’t often think to play the songs back to back.  Well I can say that it does work.  Sometimes while playing something like The Magnificent Gonads track Getting Pissed followed by The Pastels doing My Hearts My Badge you realize that these genres aren’t so far apart after all.  Throw in some Beat Happening and Cock Sparrer and suddenly you’re looking at a real party.   It's great fun and I really do believe that it's time to enjoy good oi music now that the dust has settled a bit.  It will always be a music for testosterone fueled necklumps to bash each other and those who get in their way.  But it should also be okay for the rest of us to crush a few cans of beer and pump our fists while Peter And The Test Tube Babies roar out of our speakers at 2 in the morning.
